GENERAL INFORMATION
GENERAL INFORMATION

The deadline to register to vote in the May 7 election is Thursday, April 7, 2022. Official information about this election can be found on the websites of the Dallas County and Collin County Elections Departments.

Texas Constitutional Amendments

Normally, May elections only have local races on the ballot, but two proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution that came out of a special legislative session will be on the ballot as well. All registered Texas voters will vote on the two proposed amendments. Click here to view the language of the two proposed amendments.

Richardson ISD Board of Trustees

Three seats on the Richardson ISD Board of Trustees will be on the ballot. All are single-member districts, meaning that only voters who live within a district may vote for that seat. Districts 2 and 5 have contested races. Click here to view a map of RISD single-member districts.

Dallas College Board of Trustees

Four seats on the Dallas College Board of Trustees will be on the ballot. All are single-member districts, meaning that only voters who live within a district may vote for that seat. There are contested races in District 1 (unexpired term), District 2, and District 3. Most voters who live within the boundaries of the RISD live in District 1. Some in the easternmost parts of RISD live in District 3. Click here to view a map of Dallas College single-member districts.

City of Garland Elections

Garland City Council single-member Districts 2 and 5 are being voted on in this election. Neither district falls within the boundaries of the RISD.
