CANDIDATE FORUMS
All voters who live in the City of Richardson will vote on: 
  • Richardson City Council Places 1-6 and the Mayor (Place 7).  Places 1-4 have a residency requirement, but all voters in the city vote for all 7 places:
    • Candidates for Mayor (Place 7) are (All candidates are listed in ballot order.):

      • Amir Omar
      • Bob Dubey
    • Candidates for Place 6 are (All candidates are listed in ballot order.):
      • Arefin Shamsul
      • Lisa Marie Kupfer
    • Places 1-5 are uncontested, with only the incumbents on the ballot.

All voters who live in the Dallas County portion of Richardson, or in the RISD portions of Garland and Dallas are generally eligible to vote in Richardson ISD Board of Trustee elections.  In this election, only voters who live in Single-Member Districts 2, 4, and 5 will see candidates’ names on their ballots: 
  • Candidates for District 2 are (All candidates are listed in ballot order.):
    • Elaine Bonavita
    • Vanessa Pacheco
    • Pamela Hughes
  • District 4 is uncontested, with only the incumbent on the ballot.
  • Candidates for District 5 are (All candidates are listed in ballot order.):

  • Plano ISD Board of Trustees Places 1, 2, 3, and 6.

Voters who live in the City of Garland will vote on: 
  • Mayor and City Councilmembers for Single-Member Districts 3, 6, 7 and 8.

* To be counted, Ballots by Mail must be postmarked by 7 p.m. on Election Day (May 3, 2025) AND received by the County Elections Office by 5 p.m. the next day (May 4, 2025). Dallas County

  • Registered voters who live in Dallas County may vote at any open Vote Center on Election Day.  As long as you are in line by 7 p.m., you may vote.

  • Registered voters who live in Collin County may vote at any open Vote Center on Election Day.  As long as you are in line by 7 p.m., you may vote.

You can now view League of Women Voters-produced Voters Guide questions and answers on the VOTE411.org website.  Here, you can enter your address and view a personalized Voters Guide that includes only the races you will see on your ballot, and you can compare candidates’ qualifications and answers side-by-side.
A printed VOTERS GUIDE published by the League of Women Voters of Richardson (LWVR) is now available.  Candidates from contested races for Richardson Mayor (Place 7) and City Council Place 6, and Richardson ISD Board of Trustees Single-Member Districts 2 and 5 responded to four questions for this VOTERS GUIDE.
