Your county’s Elections Department needs trained people to work at polling places, both during early voting and on Election Day. There are several paid positions available for eligible workers.

BECOME A POLL MONITOR
The nonpartisan Election Protection Coalition trains volunteers from a number of participating organizations in Texas to answer election hotlines for voters experiencing problems while voting. Click

BECOME A VOLUNTEER DEPUTY REGISTRAR
You can receive free training from a county Elections Department to become a Volunteer Deputy Registrar (VDR). VDRs can register people at in-person events using special forms that must then be returned by hand to Elections Department offices. Voters who register through a VDR receive a receipt showing that they are registered to vote.

NOTE: If you become a VDR in one county in Texas, you can get VDR credentials in other counties without having to re-test.
JOIN THE LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS
As a member of the League of Women Voters, you can: help register voters; provide nonpartisan information to the public about voting and elections; help prepare Voters Guides and plan candidate forums; and study, take positions on, and advocate for issues of importance.
