This is the date on which city, school district, and county governmental bodies hold elections. The races that will be on your ballot depend on where you live. Elections in which only one candidate filed to run for office have been canceled and will not appear on the ballot. Elections that have been canceled include:
- Richardson ISD Board of Trustees
- Collin County Appraisal District Board
Voters who live in the City of Richardson, Collin County, will not have any races on their ballot.
Voters who live in the City of Richardson, Dallas County, will have the following races on their ballot:
Portions of the Richardson ISD are located in the cities of Dallas and Garland.
In addition to the two races listed above for Richardson residents:
- Voters who live in the RISD portions of the City of Dallas will have the following races on their ballot:

City of Dallas bond election (Propositions A-J)
- Voters who live in the RISD portions of the City of Garland will have the following races on their ballot:
o City of Garland charter amendments (Propositions A-Q)
*To be counted, Ballots by Mail must be postmarked by 7 p.m. on Election Day (May 4, 2024) AND received by the County Elections Office by 5 p.m. the next day (May 5, 2024). Other deadlines may apply for overseas and military ballots. Go to the
