The Richardson Independent School District Board of Trustees consists of seven elected positions, with each Trustee serving a three-year term. Trustees are elected every two years in May local elections, with terms overlapping.
Districts 1 through 5 are single-member districts, meaning that the Trustee elected in that district must live within its boundaries. Only voters who live within a district’s boundaries may vote for the Trustee who will represent that district.
Places 6 and 7 are at-large, meaning that the Trustee elected to that place may live anywhere in the RISD and is elected by all voters in the RISD.
