Straight-party voting, also known as straight-ticket voting, enables a voter to select one political party's complete slate of candidates for every office by making a single mark on their ballot.
In 2017, the Texas Legislature passed a bill that eliminates straight party voting in Texas beginning in 2020. Voters must vote on each race individually rather than casting a single vote for all candidates from one party.
NOTE: You do not have to cast a vote for every race on the ballot. If you wish to skip certain races, you may do so.
