North Central Texas Council of Governments
"Mobility 2050 Plan"

The North Central Texas Council of Governments (NCTCOG) is "a voluntary association of, by and for local governments, established to assist in regional planning. NCTCOG's purpose is to strengthen both the individual and collective power of local governments and to help them recognize regional opportunities, eliminate unnecessary duplication, and make joint decisions."

According to the NCTCOG, their Metropolitan Transportation Plan "acts as a blueprint to guide the spending of federal and state transportation funds in the Dallas-Fort Worth region for the next 20 years and beyond."  Their plan is called "Mobility 2050".

NCTCOG is requesting input from the public as they update Mobility 2050.  Your input can help ensure that the updates will allow Mobility 2050 to still meet the needs of the DFW region in the future.
  • Take the NCTCOG survey to tell them what parts of the transportation system are working well and what needs improvement.  The survey should take 5-10 minutes.
  • Use NCTCOG's "Map Your Experience" tool to tell them about your daily transportation experiences.  The tool is available in English and Spanish.
  • Take the Access North Texas survey which addresses the tranportation needs of older adults, individuals with disabilities, and individuals with lower incomes.  The survey should take 5-10 minutes.

 May Election Results

May was a busy month for elections in our area, with both the May 4 Local Elections and the May 24 Primary Runoff Elections.  Unfortunately, voter turnout was very low for both elections. Here are some statistics on voter turnout:

% of eligible voters voting in             Dallas County   Collin County
5/4 Local Elections                           5.880%              6.62%
5/24 Democratic Primary Runoff      1.72%                0.39%*
5/24 Republican Primary Runoff       1.31%               3.93%

* There were very few Democratic Runoff races in Collin County districts.
There were none for City of Richardson residents.
