Status of Voter Registration Cards

Why is everything different on my new card? Why do some cards have a birthdate of 1911?

New Voter Registration Cards

Our old Texas voter registration cards expired at the end of 2011, but due to litigation over district boundaries, the printing and delivery of new registration cards was delayed.

New (yellow) voter registration cards were mailed to voters by their county Elections Departments on or before April 25, 2012. If you did not receive a new voter registration card, contact the Dallas County or Collin County Elections Department.

Due to redistricting, many people will find themselves in new precincts and/or new voting districts. Check your new card carefully to find out which races you will be voting in.

1911 Birthdates

If your new voter registration card arrived but has your birthdate incorrectly listed as 1911, you may still vote in the November 6 General Election using that card. After the election, you should send the card to your county Elections Department for correction.
