The League of Women Voters of Texas has prepared a VOTERS GUIDE listing arguments for and against each of the seven proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution.

City of Richardson

The League of Women Voters of Richardson has prepared a VOTERS GUIDE covering the four bond proposals and 83 proposed amendments to the Richardson City Charter.

  • Clarification on Proposition #5: On page 4 of the LWV-Richardson VOTERS GUIDE, the last bullet in the analysis portion for Proposition #5 states, "If this proposition passes, citizens will be expressly prohibited from speaking at emergency meetings or authorized closed meetings of the city council."

    After publication of the VOTERS GUIDE, LWV-Richardson requested clarification from the city attorney regarding this analysis. The response from the city attorney was: "If proposition 5 is approved the council is not required to allow citizens [to] speak at an emergency meeting but may do so if the council desires. As for authorized closed meetings (executive sessions) under state law the public is not allowed to attend or speak during an authorized closed meeting (executive session)."
