What will be on the ballot locally in May?
The Richardson ISD Board of Trustees was scheduled to hold an election for Places 1 and 2. Both incumbents filed for re-election. Because no candidates filed to run against either of them, the election has been cancelled.
This is not an election year for the Richardson City Council. City Council elections are held in May of odd-numbered years. Council members serve consecutive 2-year terms and will all face re-election in 2019.
This is not an election year for the Plano ISD Board of Trustees. PISD trustees serve overlapping 4-year terms and will have another election in 2019.
Dallas County Community College Board of Trustees will be holding an election for District 7. The Dallas County portions of the City of Richardson are represented by District 1. The incumbent for District 1 is not opposed, so there will not be an election for that place.

Some residents of the Richardson ISD live in the City of Garland. Residents of the City of Garland will be voting on City Council District 2 (east-central Garland only), the unexpired term for Mayor, and on 36 City Charter amendment propositions. The Collin County Elections Department has published sample ballots on their website. The City of Richardson precincts located in Collin County (48, 55, 78, 94, 110, and 175) do not have any sample ballots listed because there are no county-wide elections that will be voted on by Collin County residents of the City of Richardson.
