Making Democracy Work

Know Your Town II Outings

Where can I learn more about the city, school district, and the League of Women Voters?

Know Your Town II Outings

When the League of Women Voters of Richardson first formed in the early 1960s, it undertook a year-long project called Know Your Town. The project was designed to help members of the organization learn more about how their government functioned so that they would be better informed as citizens and voters.

This year, we are embarking on a Know Your Town II project, in recognition of the many changes in Richardson and the RISD over the last 55 years. As part of this project, we will embarking on a series of outings to learn more about our city and school district.

These outings are educational in nature, and are not meant to be a time for League advocacy on any particular issues. We will simply be observing and learning, and we invite interested members of the public to join us.
